The UFC is taking a lead in content production around their massive fight night’s with their own Embedded Series that gives an up close and personal view on their top fighters. UFC 229 is without doubt the biggest fight card of the year so far with McGregor taking on Khabib for the Lightweight Championship billed as the biggest fight in the history of the UFC franchise. In the build-up to the fight night from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Embedded gest behind the scenes from the fighters training camps, giving fans a unique view on what these superstars of the octagon have to go through before the big night. UFC 229 Embedded McGregor v Khabib – Episode 1

In episode one of the fly-on-the wall documentary both McGregor and Khabib provide some insight on where they are both at mentally and physically ahead of the grudge match.

The Irishman has done most of his training camp back in Ireland, before heading out to Vegas and the UFC High Performance Institute where he will base himself for the final stages of his training. The Irishman looks in superb shape with coach Owen Roddy insisting he is in the best condition of his life and that being out of the octagon for two years will have no effect on his performance and the outcome.

Khabib has been doing his camp at the American Kickboxing Academy and is seen arriving in Vegas a week before the fight, however not before an army of his fans gave him a proper send-off.

UFC 229 Embedded McGregor v Khabib – Episode 2

In episode two of UFC 229 Embedded both McGregor and Khabib have settled down in Vegas with their big fight less than a week away. For the Russian and current champion, it is all about spending time with his family, team-mates and winding down his preparations, while for McGregor it is much the same including some media commitments.

The attention also turns to Tony Ferguson and Anthony Pettis who fight on the undercard in what is also expected to be a thrilling encounter. The episode also features Michelle Waterson who opens the pay-per-view card when she takes on Felice Herrig, as the rising American star makes her arrival in Vegas.

In episode three of UFC 229 Embedded, most of the fighters have now arrived in Vegas with just four days to go before one the most anticipated nights of MMA action in the history of the UFC franchise. With the training winding down it is time for the fighters to collect kit, deal with all media obligations while having one eye on the most difficult part of being an MMA fighter, the weight cut. In episode four of UFC 229 Embedded, the fans get their first taste of what is to come with the fighter’s open workout sessions. Thousands turn up to get behind their favourite fighters as they go through their paces on stage. No surprise that a sea of Irish flags are on show in support their man McGregor. In episode five of UFC 229 Embedded, media obligations take center stage for the fighters. With the weight cut pending this is a part of the build-up that the fighters least enjoy, especially so close to the big night. That said a fight night has to be sold so the obligations are essential for the promotion. With all the fighters tucked away back stage talking to the media, McGregor and Khabib are out front taking questions from thousands of fans in their final presser. In true McGregor fashion, the Irishman arrives 30-minutes late, much to the annoyance of the Russian who decides to leave.
