Kane signs bumper new Spurs deal

Neill Simpson 9 th June 2018

Tottenham have broken club protocol and secured the future of their talisman Harry Kane in a bumper new deal which will net the player around £90million over the next six-years.

The deal comes off the back of Spurs rewarding manager Mauricio Pochettino with a five-year extension to his deal in a move that clearly reflects the intentions of the Spurs hierarchy ahead of their move to the new stadium.

Kane’s new deal smashes the club’s current pay structure, with Daniel Levy acknowledging Kane needs to be paid on a par with the game’s top earners if they wish to keep him. His new salary is expected to be around £200,000 a week with bonuses taking it close to £300,000, just reward for a player that has scored heavily over the last three season and 41 for Spurs in the 2017/18 campaign.

Make no mistake his goal scoring exploits have caught the attention of some of Europe’s top sides, most notably Real Madrid, and with the World Cup upon us, Spurs’ timing has been spot on in securing his long term future.

Reports are also suggesting that Pochettino has been involved in talks with Heung-min Son, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen about new deals.

Kane’s new deal puts him second behind Alexis Sanchez in top earning Premier League players alongside Mesut Ozil.
